A couple of years ago, Amy Lynch-Biniek and I started to discuss a feature of academic labor precarity that we felt was important to both of us, academic publishing and editorial practices. The work has unfolded in a research project that includes survey and interview work, as well as analysis of academic journal data. We plan to publish a full-length piece (or so) on the topic based on our data collection. For now, we’ve presented at the MLA 2020 conference.
